With the inception of the digital-age, job searching and submitting applications have become more difficult for people without a computer or an expensive internet connection. Some employers simply no longer take paper applications. In 2014 we received two computers from a generous donor and those two computers are located in our Career Corner. They are available for job searches and resume writing every day that the Ministry is open.
We partner with the Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce and the Carnegie Free Library to host bi-annual job fairs. Each job fair brings in over 20 representatives from local employers or institutions of learning. The job fairs are typically held each fall and spring. Please follow our Facebook page for updates on dates and locations.
In between job fairs, we also maintain a bulletin board where we post both local job opportunities and educational programs. We work closely with the Private Industry Council, the Connellsville Chamber of Commerce, and other employment and education programs to keep our clients updated on local opportunities. If you are an employer or have connections with a school or other training facility, please call the ministry at 724-626-1120 or email Cris@connmin.org and we can begin working together to build a stronger community.
Assistance with resume writing and advice on other career-related issues is available upon request free of charge. If you are a job seeker, or if you need information on obtaining your G.E.D. or any other education to improve your life, please call the ministry at 724-626-1120 or email Cris@connmin.org for assistance.
