A new room has been built at the Ministries! We call it our Bargain Basement. Don’t let the name fool you – these are quality items! The space downstairs simply allows us to have sales more frequently, instead of having to wait for the food pantry to close. The media sale starts Monday, February 6! There will be DVDs, VHS, records, cassettes, CDS, video games, books, and more!
Connellsville Area Community Ministries, the Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce and the Carnegie Free Library will be hosting a job fair on March 15, 2017. In advance of the job, two resume workshops will be offered at the Library: Feb. 15 at 4:30 pm and March 8 at 4:30 pm. Anyone who attends the workshops may receive a voucher to purchase new business clothes at the Ministries. If you have any questions regarding the workshops please contact Emily Nicholson (Carnegie Free Library) at 724.628.1380.
Volunteer Spotlight: Janie Fabian
How did you hear about volunteering at CACM?
I was shopping one day and I started talking to the ladies who were volunteering in the shop. I started volunteering right after that.
What was you first day like?
It was hard at first. But, I love it now and I am so happy that I stayed.
What is the most rewarding part of volunteering at CACM?
The friendship. Its like a family here. I truly found another family here. We worry about each other and take care of each other. Its nice.
What is you favorite member during your time as a volunteer?
A long time ago, I got to ride down the belt. It was on my bucket list.
