Crisis Assistance

Utility Assistance:

  • The client must have a shut-off notice
  • The client must bring the shut-off notice to their appointment and allow CACM to make a copy
  • The client must show ID- the name on the ID must match the name on the shut-off notice
  • The client must live in the Connellsville Area School District
  • The client must not have received assistance from CACM in the last 12 months
  • October through December clients must register with Dollar Energy- must provide CACM a copy of the denial or acceptance letter
  • The client must have made a payment on their account in the last 3 months
  • Utility means water, sewage, gas, electric. CACM does not offer financial assistance with telephone, cell phone, cable, or internet bills

Rental Assistance:

  • The client must have an income-ideally more than their monthly expenses
  • The client must live in the Connellsville Area School District
  • The client must have an eviction notice
  • The client must show ID- name on the ID must match the name on the eviction notice
  • The client must not have received assistance from CACM in the last 12 months
  • The client must have made a payment in the last 3 months

House Fire: 

  • The client must have a report from the Fire Department
  • The address listed on the Fire Dept. The report must be located within the Connellsville Area School District
  • The client must show ID- the name on the ID must be listed on the Fire Department Report
  • The client must first register with the Red Cross

Theft:

  • The client must have a police report
  • The address on the police report must be located within the Connellsville Area School District
  • The client must show ID- the name on the ID must be listed on the police report.

Professional Referral:

  • The client must be referred from another professional organization (i.e. CYS, Community Action, St. Vincent de Paul, etc.)
  • The client must have a letter on letterhead from the referring organization
  • The letter must list exactly what is needed
  • The letter must list contact information for the employee/volunteer making the referral
  • Only what is listed will be given
  • The client must not have received assistance from CACM in the last 12 months

Homeless: 

  • The client must be able to provide factual information to establish a timeline of homelessness
  • Clients may be provided with a hotel room for up to 2 nights- if it is too late for City Mission or if they are moving within that timeframe 
  • -Clients must contact City Missions/ Community Action/ other shelters to receive assistance
  • -CACM can provide FACT bus tokens, toiletries, clothes, coats, blankets, etc.

Domestic Violence:

  • The client must have a current PFA
  • The client must live in the Connellsville Area School District or have been referred by another organization

Food: 

  • CACM provides no questions asked food every day.
  • If a client is a member of our food pantry, the government provides one emergency box every 12 months
  • CACM can provide food to clients who fall into the other assistance categories as needed

Pregnant/ Baby Supplies:

  • -If a client is pregnant, they must register with Alternatives Yes first
  • The client must live in the Connellsville Area School District
  • The client must not have received assistance from CACM in the last 12 months
  • The client must provide paperwork establishing a financial need for assistance

Grant Funded through March 2020:

  • Providing financial assistance for transportation, identification, clearances, clothing, etc.
  • CACM can provide assistance to people who are homeless or in another crisis by:
  • Providing financial assistance to obtain birth certificates and/ or the identification necessary to sign-up for assistance
